Small Business Community Potentially Key Voice in Upcoming Elections

November
is a few months away and the majority of Americans are already thinking about
their holiday menus and plans for Thanksgiving. But in the political world,
Republicans and Democrats are preparing for their own holiday…. November midterm elections.

With control
of congress at stake, both political factions will tout their respective
platforms to sell constituents on the party best suited to lead the country back
to prosperity.  A segment of the voting
public listening closely with a potential key vote in the upcoming elections is
the small business community.
In a poll conducted among a few members of the small business community to gauge their
voting interests, an overwhelming 64 % selected the Republicans compared to a
paltry 3% supporting Democrats.
Small
business owners consider Republicans policies on business more favorable
compared to the views of Democrats which they deem “anti-business.”  For
instance small business owners dislike several policies by President Obama: “America
needs a raise” initiative, Obamacare (the affordable care act), and the federal
tax increase, which absorbs most of the working capital for small businesses.

The
sentiment among small business owners is that government policies have
contributed to the worst-post recession recovery in history, creating a challenge
for them to thrive in a tough economy.   While
small businesses are working diligently to boost holiday traffic, they’re aware
of the many options available to acquire extra working capital to facilitate
their businesses growth.
